How much overtime do I owe?

Type a monthly salary and the overtime hours worked. We apply the rates from Kuwait Labor Law (Article 66): 1.25× for weekday OT, 1.5× for weekly rest day, 2.0× for public holidays.

Heads up: Kuwait Labor Law caps overtime at 2 hours per day, 180 hours per year, and 90 days per year. Working a rest day or holiday also entitles the employee to a substitute rest day.

The formula, in plain English

  1. Hourly rate = Monthly basic salary ÷ (Working days × Hours per day).
  2. Weekday OT = Hourly rate × 1.25 × hours.
  3. Weekly rest day OT = Hourly rate × 1.5 × hours (plus a substitute rest day).
  4. Public holiday OT = Hourly rate × 2.0 × hours (plus a substitute rest day).
  5. Total overtime owed = sum of the three categories.
